The purpose of the CRF is to promote awareness, development, and dissemination of case research, writing and teaching through the provision of scholarships and grants and more.

Currently, the major activity of the CRF is administering the Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship Program.  This program provides fellowships to doctoral students and junior faculty in the first three years of a tenure-track or equivalent appointment to be trained in case research, writing, and teaching at the annual meeting of the North American Case Research Foundation.  In 2015, the CRF awarded its first fellowships, and has awarded fellowships every year since then.

The Case Research Foundation (CRF) was founded in June 2014 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation. The CRF is a 501(c)3 organization.  Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.
