Anjan Ghosh (’16)

Anjan, who was a doctoral student at IIM-Calcutta at the time of his fellowship, told us that “the fellowship helped me decide on the case method as the core of my research career.” He is now an associate professor of strategic management at the Narxoz Business School in Kazakhstan, where he founded and directs the Silk Road Case Center. “We have a growing need for teaching cases on businesses in Central Asia,” Anjan reported. “The young generation who are poised to lead must understand the local business context. And, in a connected global economy, multinational organizations must understand Central Asia.”

Nermeen Shehata (’17)

Nermeen, an associate professor of accounting, became the director of the El-Khazindar Business Research & Case Center (KCC) at the American University in Cairo in 2018 after completing her Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship. In 2019, KCC was the academic sponsor for the first School of Business International Case Competition, which brought together teams from many countries, including Canada, India, UAE, and Egypt, to compete in solving a challenging business case. Nermeen recently presented a report on financial disclosure by top Egyptian companies to a United Nations meeting on the Sustainable Development Goals.
